Nikki completed her manuscript for a pamphlet of poems. Title to be revealed!

Nikki attended the Poetry Idol event at Shortfuse, The Camden Head, Angel, hosted by Nathan Penlington. 6 poets performed for 10 minutes each and two winners were selected to perform full sets next year.

Nikki's memorable line: 'Margaret Thatcher, Margaret Thatcher, from what reptilian egg did they hatch yer?' from a poem by Richie Scurvey. Nikki's memorable poem 'A Flower in the Summer' by Wasim Ahmed aka Fearless.

Nikki read a selection of her poems at the launch of the winter issue of 'Brittle Star' at the Torriano Meeting House, Kentish Town.The poems were:

'Toad Patrol', 'Husbandry', 'Baby Viewing', 'We jumped...', 'Of Ponies and Sand', 'Summer Snake and Rain' and 'Slug Poem I'.

The evening was great fun and the vampire teeth jellies and wine were much appreciated.

Thanks to Hannah, Edward and Carolyn for all their support and also to the editors of 'Brittle Star' and to the Torriano Meeting House poets for making me feel so welcome.

'Living with Egg' has been accepted for publication by 'The New Writer' Nov/Dec 04. 'We jumped...' and 'Of Ponies and Sand' have been accepted for publication by 'Brittle Star' .

'Husbandry' has been highly-commended in the ARTACA Writer's Against Cruelty Competition. The poem will be published later this month on the ARTACA website and also in Issue Five of www.thisisitmag.co.uk.
